History



In 1995, Judith Grubbs established Custom Communications as an independent entity from the employee communications division of a prominent national employee benefits company where it was first developed. The company first specialized in providing employee communications products and services to clients in need of total compensation statements, enrollment materials, summary plan descriptions, newsletters and more. In 1997, Custom Communications added an on-site fulfillment and mailing facility to add to its communications offering. In response to the expanding needs of its clients, the company began offering full-service benefits administration and outsourcing capabilities in 1999. At this time, the company also started providing online services and electronic media options as an alternative to printed materials. Kellie Grubbs-Riccelli assumed ownership and management of Custom Communications along with her father, Donald, in 2000. Today, as a certified minority-owned company, Custom Communications offers end-to-end human resource solutions to clients throughout the United States and Puerto Rico from its one-stop facility in Windsor, CT.
